Ul1449 Certified Surge Protector - Main Circuit Tripping Device Lightning Protection Is More Stable
Surge protector, also called lightning arrester, is an electronic device that provides safety protection for various electronic equipment, instruments and communication lines. When a spike current or voltage suddenly occurs in an electrical circuit or communication line due to external interference, the surge protection device can conduct and shunt in a very short time, thereby preventing the surge from damaging other devices in the circuit. So what are the characteristics of UL1449 certified surge protective device?
According to the requirements of UL1449, SPD must comply with:
- No continuous current
- The first-level SPD itself must be able to withstand the short-circuit tolerance test, rather than relying on other overcurrent protectors (such as fuses, circuit breakers, etc.).
Main circuit tripping device:
1. When the SPD is subjected to overvoltage, even a small current will cause the tripping device to trip, thereby disconnecting the main circuit and no current flowing to avoid burning;
2. Because the main circuit is disconnected, false alarms are avoided.
