The Purpose Of Spd Surge Protector Energy Coordination

Publish Time: Author: Site Editor Visit: 68

According to GB50343 "Technical Specifications for Lightning Protection of Electronic Information Technology in Buildings", Section 5.4.3 10: The purpose of SPD energy coordination is to use the current discharge and voltage limiting function of SPD to safely guide surge currents such as lightning and operation on the distribution line into the ground, thereby protecting electronic equipment.

As long as the energy dissipated by any SPD in the surge protector does not exceed the tolerance capacity of each for all surge overvoltages and overcurrents, energy coordination is achieved.

In the actual protection line, it is necessary to build a "coordinated" protection circuit: install the "first-level" SPD discharge at the low-voltage distribution line, and install the "second-level" SPD voltage limiting in front of the protected equipment to achieve the best protection effect.
