Surge Protector Installation - Manufacturer Technical Online Teaching
In people's increasingly prosperous lives, electronic devices have occupied most of the space in people's lives, providing great convenience for life. In this electrical age, the hazards from the clouds are also constantly alerting humans. In order to deal with the hazards from lightning, the surge protector horn gap in the late 19th century. Aluminum surge protection device, oxide film surge protectors and pill-type surge protectors in the 1920s. Tube surge protectors appeared in the 1930s. Silicon carbide lightning arresters appeared in the 1950s. Metal oxide surge protective device appeared in the 1970s. In modern times, SPD lightning protection surge protectors have been upgraded and improved for generations and have become a mature product with a smaller size, better performance, and more convenient installation of surge protectors.
In addition, the national standard strictly stipulates the installation specifications of surge protectors. In the "GB50343-2012 Technical Specifications for Lightning Protection of Building Electronic Information Systems", it is stipulated that in the AC power supply line entering the building, at the junction of LPZOA or LPZOB and LPZO1 areas such as the main distribution box of the line, a surge protector of Class I test or a surge protector of Class II test should be installed as the first-level protection; at the junction of subsequent protection areas such as the distribution box of the distribution line and the distribution box of the electronic equipment room, a surge protector of Class II or Class III test can be installed as the subsequent protection; the power port of special and important electronic information equipment can be installed with a surge protector of Class II or Class III test as fine protection. Information equipment using DC power supply should be installed with an appropriate DC power supply line surge protector depending on its working voltage requirements.
The number of levels of surge protectors should comprehensively consider factors such as protection distance, length of surge protector connection wire, and rated value of impulse voltage Uw of the protected equipment. Each level of surge protector should be able to withstand the expected discharge current at the installation point, and its effective protection level UP/F should be less than the Uw of the corresponding category of equipment.
When the line length between the voltage switch type surge protector and the voltage limiting type surge protector is less than 10m, and the line length between the voltage limiting type surge protectors is less than 5m, a decoupling device should be installed between the two levels of surge protectors. When the surge protector has the function of automatic energy coordination, the line length between the surge protectors is not limited.
