Misunderstandings About The Uc Value Of Surge Protectors - 2 Minutes To Help You Solve Them

Recently, a customer asked us about the selection of DC surge protectors. He required the Uc (maximum continuous operating voltage) of the surge protector to be 130Vdc. The reason was that the circuit system voltage was 120Vdc and the operating voltage of the back-end equipment was between 100Vdc-150Vdc.
We selected a surge protector with a Uc of 200Vdc for the customer, which made the customer confused and worried. If an overvoltage between 150Vdc-200Vdc was generated in the system, would the surge protector fail to operate, causing the equipment to be damaged?

From a logical point of view, the customer's doubts seem reasonable, but from a professional point of view, there is a misunderstanding of the UC value of the surge protector.
