When lightning occurs, the induced current generated by it will cause a short circuit to the electrical equipment and lines in the building, and in severe cases, it will cause a fire. So when we buy a surge protector, another important point is the installation problem. Only by correct installation can the surge protector protect the various devices in the line well. So how should we install the surge protection device?

1. The installation of the power line surge protector should comply with the following regulations:

1. The surge protective device of each level of the power line should be installed at the entrance of the line into the building, the interface of the lightning protection zone and near the protected equipment. The connecting wires of the surge protectors at each level should be short and straight, and their length should not exceed 0.5m, and they should be firmly fixed. The connection terminals of the surge protector should be connected to the same-name end phase line of the line in the distribution box at the lower pile head of the switch and fuse at this level, and the grounding terminal of the surge protector should be connected to the equipotential grounding terminal board in the lightning protection zone at the shortest distance. The protective grounding wire (PE) of the distribution box should be directly connected to the equipotential grounding terminal board.

2. Power line surge protectors with terminal blocks should be crimped; surge protectors with terminal blocks should be connected to terminal blocks.

3. The minimum cross-sectional area of the connecting wire of the surge protector should comply with the provisions of the following table.

2. The installation of antenna feeder line surge protectors should comply with the following provisions:

1. Antenna feeder line surge protectors should be installed between the antenna feeder line and the protected equipment, preferably near the equipment in the machine room or on the rack, or directly on the equipment video port;

2. The grounding end of the antenna feeder line surge protector should be connected to the equipotential grounding terminal board at the junction of LPZ0A or LPZ0B and LPZ1 with a copper core wire with a cross-sectional area of not less than 6mm², and the grounding wire should be short and straight.

3. The installation of signal line surge protectors should comply with the following provisions:

1. Signal line surge protectors should be connected to the signal port of the protected equipment. Surge protectors can be installed in cabinets or fixed to equipment racks or nearby supports.

2. The grounding terminal of the signal line surge protector should be connected to the equipotential connection network of the equipment room using a copper core wire with a cross-sectional area of not less than 1.5mm², and the grounding wire should be short and straight.
